Took the car out today on some twisty back roads just to get a feel for how it performs - I have the 1.4 ecotsi FR.

The engine has now done 1010 miles so thought I would push it - jesus this thing shifts - cornering is good although I think the ride height could be a little lower to improve this further.

Love the way the steering weights up at faster speeds too - decent amount of feedback and I really like the steering wheel with the flat bottom as I think it gives tactile feedback of the steering position. Some say it bollocks but I like it!

The engine just gets better - docile when needed but roars into life when you push on - helped by a pretty sweet gearbox change.

Going to do some obd2 timings later this week - 0-60, 30-50, 30-70 etc.

Anyway just thought any prospective 1.4 owners would be interested.

Im a 2200 miles now, still loving the car. I think it is quite nippy and does pull well, coming from the VXR I find I can't throw it in to the corners as much and have to brake a lot earlier. Sometimes feels like the back in end is jumping round the bends!

Does yours have the variable dampers and if so how do you find them?

Did you try it in FR mode? I see standard times at around 7.6-8 seconds 0-60 however it feels like a little over 7 I'd say.

I had a Vauxhall Corsa SRi VX line as a courtesy car. And compare handling from the Corsa to the Ibiza's. The Corsa is a much lighter car, gear shifts are lighter which you can throw around bends and roundabouts without much issue.

The Ibiza on the other hand feels more glued to the road, say on a country road bend, the Ibiza handles better and sticks to the road, compared to the Corsa, which feels light with the steering.

Depends on the driving style, your after. Both are great cars.

Superchips reckon they can get it up to 180BHP from 150BHP, so it could be even quicker!
