The rear lights are the only thing I really like on the new model. I've always considered the indicators and reversing light on the current models a bit 'stuck on' and lost with the shape of the other lights in the cluster. Never know, it might be possible to swap them onto the current model in the future...

It looks like the 1.8 Tsi engine is still initially going to be available on the FR. I really thought that it would be phased out when the face lift model was introduced. I love the 1.8 that I have now had for nearly 3 and a half years. Perhaps I will still be able to order a new 1.8 Tsi DSG for delivery around April/May next year.

It's weird because Skoda have released the Kodiaq with a 2.0 tsi 180ps so I assumed they would get rid of the 1.8's for SEAT too

I'm guessing there will be a very popular thread soon on putting rear lights from the facelift on our Leons :) and maybe putting the grill from our generation on the facelift :D

Hi Boys and girls general opinion looks good inside and out lets say it still looks better than the new Megane inside and out also the Astra no body as mentioned the 150tdi now with 4 wheel drive and 7 speed dsg what would have been good was the bi-turbo diesel in the fr now we are talking some oomph
great all round comments lets see them in the flesh new A3 in s-line will take some beating almost RS front end and the interior is quality but much more expensive
cheers GHB

Kinda wished I waited from ordering in late September for the FR now.

I'm kind of happy...
Facelift does not look as good as current. (Just like with 1P, pre-fl looked so much better than fl)
I like the bigger screen, but with less buttons it will be harder to use and those few buttons looks out of place.
Rear lights looks better and i believe are easy to swap to pre-fl model.
I hate the electric handbrakes

So i will be happy to keep mine for now :)

Nice front/rear led indicators guess Audi are still keeping the mandate on dynamic ones

Good, dynamic indicators look really tacky.

I like the new front and rear lights and I'm glad they've finally gone full LED as it really seemed absurd the rears weren't already, not so keen on the front bumper however. Overall though I'm glad it's not a huge change from the current one, to most it'll be indistinguishable.

Although the official SEAT announcements don't seem to mention it, some of the online reports say that there will be an optional "virtual cockpit" display similar to that available on recent Audis.

But this report suggests that it will only be available when Skoda launches its own version in the Spring of 2017.

Could be tasty - but expensive.

Might be one of the 'surprises' for the Cupra :funk:

Booo to the new front and e-brake. And when talking to the dealer, the next Cupra will also be 4wd. Nope i will be holding on to my 280 for a very long time now.

Typical Seat, not much changed :).

Pretty much my view, just a bit of tinkering.

- Little fogs look a bit lost.
+ Increased headlight output... good, current LED's are just OK.
- E-brake, I prefer an oldskool h/brake. One of the +'s over the Golf when I was buying.
- Keyless start. That's a negative for me.
+/- Bigger screen. Bigger is "always" better, but loosing the separate "real" mode buttons outweights the screen IMO re. functionality.
+/- New wheel designs. Different, not better/worse. Only 18's on the FR? Fine if all FR's get the independent rear suspension, but that seems unlikely. 17s handle + ride better on the basic suspension (<150Ps models).

Nothing to concern existing owners, and a few changes to stir up some interest in the model.

4WD Cupra and a new 2.0ltr Petrol FR at some point would be welcome.

Interior still isn't as nice as the Golf unfortunately. Damn, was pondering cancelling my golf R order if it had been a bit of a nicer centre console. Means I have to leave the SEAT ship :( cupra 280 up for sale on the forums on here now.
