I guess it's to stop people copying the R and to keep its exclusivity.

But sooner or later, someone will make the parts.

Customer loyalty and reputation. If you've paid a premium for an exclusive car that is 1 of only 24 (UK anyway) to find out that every tom **** and harry is making replicas by buying off the shelf parts, you'd be miffed.

It's why some special editions aren't really that special as you can spec the car as you like and buy them as accessories. John Cooper Works MINI did this a lot. Only one they restricted parts for in the same way as the Cupra R was with the Works GP. However as @paddy6789 said, after 3-4 years replica parts came out.

Just need someone to hurry up and make me a legally different Cupra R ST Spoiler lol

I think it’s great - Original R parts for R....The Cupra R rims I bought was not very expensive. They also wanted a copy the Swedish registration document besides pics of my Cupra.

So not done much to the car over the last few months other than the ‘Pikey R600’ mod to get me by until I get the R600.

I hope you put the top back on the air intake :)

Why are you only going stage 2, does it not make more sense to jump straight to stage 3.

I feel like you're trying to spend my money
I'm doing it in smaller stages and ensuring the car is dealing with it well. The clutch issues have hindered the progression so far, but they'll be sorted soon :)
Stage 2 will be as I described above, then stage 2.5 will be the oil cooler, oil management, uprated water pump, waterless coolant, charge pipe kit, engine mounts, and possibly a different exhaust backbox (not deleted, just smaller with better tips).
Then stage 3 will be HPFP, hybrid turbo and the monoblock 6 pot big brake kit :)
