Just went through their website and couldn't get it under £1000. How do you do it?

Could be something to do with where you live?

Mine was ~£700 with 6 years NCB (I think only 5 years are actually counted), from AXA. I'm based in M20, which tends to be pretty high.

Mine is with privilege car insurance.

Fully comp, £375 excess, protected no claims (14 yrs), age 33. Married, two kids, wife has 3 points and wrote neighbours car off, SDPC + business use for us both. Has the optional legal, car and windscreen = £475.

Used them for 3+ years for a Golf GTI Pirelli Edition with REVO Stage 1 remap + a few other bits.

Came in at around £450-£500 (swapped ins without extra payment) for the 280.
32 / Full NCB / Married / Business use / No Kids / Edge of Coventry / Wife with 3 non fault accidents (apparently = higher risk).
They have never increased my premium when I call them to add mods.

AXA came in for me at £310 wit £150 excess, including Protected no claims, car hire, legal etc. I do have 15 years no claims. Another factor that brought down the premium is that I have a camera installed. If I recall, the difference was about 40 quid in the discount just for the camera

I've just done a quote on CompareTheMeerkat (assuming I'll get a 290 on Jan 1st), and it's come in at £280, fully comp, £100 total excess, protected NCB. That's with Admiral. All their brands (Elephant, etc.) are similar. Oddly Admiral Little Box (i.e. with a telematics box) comes in £120 more expensive!

I've 42 with 25 years' no claims, 4000 miles pa, SDC only, kept on my drive, one accident about 5 years ago which was no fault and didn't affect my no claims.

At the bottom of the list (of only about 7 who quoted) is Insure Wiser who have quoted £10,983.90!!!! (with NO excess)

I had some pretty silly quotes, I used eSure in the end. 7 years no claims, £200 excess, £273.43

It was better than my previous insurer who wanted to charge over £1,000 for the remaining two months on my policy, the exact words of the chap on the phone were "come back when your 30"!
