Driving along yesterday & get 3 beeps & red oilcan light on the dash, managed to coast to work & plumbed in an oil pressure guage which is showing 40-50 psi (I assume this is fine?) but the light keeps coming on which sensor is causing this?
The car is an 03 Ibiza TDI Sport

I've been having this issue for a while, SEAT dealer could not locate the problem (nor me ex-RAF aircraft techie) I suspect a bad earth but with no Haynes manual available I am a bit stumped and it's damned annoying...

Any help gratefully received.

Cheers

Still suffering with this snag, I found a split in the hose from the crankcase to the big ugly airbox and once I replaced it the bl**dy oil light now come on even more often. Doesn't take much to work out that they are related but I've no idea why. Elsewhere on this site it's been suggested that the pickup tube or the strainer could be blocked is that worth a look?

The car does a fair amount of short journeys and there's a good amount of emulsion floating about (the old breather tube was full of the stuff!! Any suggestions regarding this would be useful, is it causing a problem or masking it in some way.

All help and advice welcome - 'cos that beeping getting right on my wick.

BTW already changed the oil pressure switch, complete oil change/filter change.

Mine came on because the dip stick holder was snaped, meaning a slightly different oil pressure. these things are very sensitive lol.

I have found out from elsewhere on the internet that there are TWO oil pressure switches (sensors/senders) and I had noticed that the problem only occurs between about 1500rpm and 2000rpm, above and below these revs everything is OK. Problem now is locating the other bl**dy switch. Various people have told me it's on the oil filter housing, VAGCAT diagrams indicate that with power steering it located near the drive belts but I cannot see it anywhere. Nothing wrong with oil level or pressure BTW. The car is W plate (1999/200) SEAT Ibiza 1.4S (MPI) the engine code is AKK. Hope I can get this fixed as I have sorted everything else that the local dealer failed to find/fix... perseverance pay off!

Hello .
I have a Ibiza 1.9 SDI. about a week ago I started having this problem. The thing is, I don't even need to get the engine running. I just turn the keys to the last position before ignition and if I wait a bit, there goes the signal and the light.. At the beginning it was very sparse.. it would happen very occasionally but now it's almost a constant thing and the beeping sound get quite annoying.. I'm driving it to a garage this week.. but I wanted to get an Idea of what it could be.. a guy told me about electrical faults or sensors or oil pump fault.. could it be any of this? anyone had this sorted out?

cheers
(sorry for the bad english)
