3 Climate Control Issues

Hi Guys,

Searching around for info (have searched on here too) and wondered if anyone has any coments on 3 specific faults on an Ibiza Chill/S which I'm preparing for my sister. Took it on a run yesterday and this is what I found:

1) AC works but only moderately cold, by works it's gassed up okay/compressor engages etc, but never really chills down like it should. I have yet to re-check the gas amount & check the basic settings of the heater flap but as it doesn't get warm when you turn AC off I don't think it's the flap.

2) Air temp stays the same from 16-26, only going hot on 'hi'. I suspect the interior temp sensor, I will look at it later (any guides appreciated). The exterior temp sensor appears to report correctly.

3) Every time I restart the car, all the settings on the climatronic are lost and the fan comes on full blast, ac comes on etc. Very annoying - I haven't noticed this in any other VAG car - the settings are always saved unless you alter them. Is this normal?

Any comments appreciated, Greg.

how long has it been since the last ac service? Also is the external temp sensor working properly?

Yes as I say the ext temp sensor appears to report correctly. On the weekend in the sun it said 28, in the evening it dropped down to 20 which seemed about right for the temps of the day.

AC service I checked the low side pressure on the weekend but I'll check the gas again in the week.

Of course this doesn't affect the heating operation problem and the resetting of the controls every time I put the ignition on!

Greg.

That one might be if the fan position is set to the front windscreen, if it is then thats why it keeps resetting.
