cambelt is checked at 60k i believe and every 10k afterwards until it needs replacing, usually best to replace at 60k i reckon though. not sure about water pump.

Yeah £40k is the big one, just had the £30k done and all it had were filters and something else can't remember but was only small. Should be light on the wallet as mine was.

Not heard about time for the water pump either.

Hey timmbo snap, 55 plat grey LCR. You happy with everything and no probs? I know I am biased but I spent ages looking for one of these beauties down south - there are not many around at a half decent price.

The water pump isn't the problem, it's the propeller. And this doesn't have a replacement time or mileage as it's supposed to last for the life of the car, it's not a service item. But unfortunately the standard propeller is plastic and can break on some cars, causing the car to over-heat. There is a brass version of it from the Audi TT that can be fitted that cures this problem, but to fit it involves taking off the cambelt, which is why it's recommended that when you get one done, you do the other at the same time :)

I've got my 40K service comming up next month (July) and was quoted around the £200 mark if the plugs needed changing at the same time, from a non franchised Seat dealer, which i feel is pretty good, so expect this sort of price.

Obviously going to a Seat dealer this will increase dramatically, the cam belt only needs doing at 60K, and it's advised to do the water pump at he same time, or so I'm told.

Good stuff Rob. Think it will have to be done at the same time then.

From what I hear a 40k service around the £200 mark is the average, depending on work to be done obviously. In 10k miles time I will be happy being under £250 incl VAT.

Independant VAG specialists will charge around £200-250, Seat will charge closer to £300 for the 40k. It's a big service and there is a lot to check and / or change, including spark's if I remember correctly?

Hi
30k service is just the oil and oil filter replaced , with the lights , levels , check over and diagnostic check
We charge £100.00 + VAT for that
The full service which includes the above and air filter , fuel filter and spark plugs too and we charge £170.00 _ £180.00 + VAT for that one too
Sarah

Mine's just come up to 30k too (lc not lcr) and gonna do myself

got the oil and oil/ fuel+ pollen filter (also bought magnetic sump plug from awesome)
Have been advised to leave the plugs alone, but would like to get it checked for any fault codes

I'm not missing anything out am I?
