leon fr tdi, first 2 services were covered by a service plan i bought when i got the car ... like a fool i opted for the 2 x service plan and not the 3 . so, my 30k service is now due, booked in for next week. any ideas how much (roughly) this service should cost, i'll be supplying my own oil.

it's the same garage i always use, honda franchise arnold clark up here in bonnie scotland. i asked girl for an approx. cost when i booked it in, she said unfortunately can't tell you off-hand as it's not a honda ... i'll need to ask mechanics what parts they'll need to order ... i'll phone you in a day or so.

needless to say phone call has never come, not unduly bothered about that as long as i know (roughly) how much this service normally costs? i'm assuming when i drop car off they'll be able to give me even a best guess as they'll have any required parts etc by then, but a ballpark from you guys would be handy.

that seems pricey to me! my 40k service was only 215ish iirc on my lcr and that is a much bigger service than the 30k.

thanks guys ... so we're saying it shouldn't be more than £200 tops? just good to have a ballpark maximum so if they say 'that'll be £275 please' i can say 'aye that'll be right' [B)]

I'm not sure what the 30k service entails on your car, but i don't think it should be anything major, just an oil and filter change plus a few checks.

If your supplying your own oil it shouldn't be anywhere near £200, possibly less than £150. You could try ringing a seat dealer just to get an idea of what to expect

I would think that being it's a honda main stealer, it'll be pretty much like for like price with seat stealers..

I'd say from my recent quotes, your gonna be looking at the upper end of £200-300

It should be no more that 1 hour of labour, oil filter(£10 tops, should be £5) & sump plug (£2 tops)

Depends on the hourly rate the place charge - could be anything from £30 up to £95.

I know that W. Livingstone's (Seat dealer) are under £50 for a 10k service on my 1.8t petrol Leon with me supplying the oil - and thats you getting a dealer stamp in the book.

Last service was 90k so just the oil-change one, Star Performance, and it was well under £100 with them supplying £40 quids worth of fully synthetic oil. DOnt have an exact price as there was other work getting done as well.

In scotland there is only two places i trust to go near me car - W. Livingstone's & Star Performance, would not go near the AC monkeys :)

:help:

wasn't thinking on anywhere near £300 :headhurt: hopefully you're way out on your estimate! 2 things i have to do next week before my car goes in:

1. phone seat dealer to see what they'd take.
2. confirm price from place i've got it booked in at. if they can't tell me a day or so prior to service i'll cancel and go elsewhere ... no way i'm leaving it with them when they haven't given me a price.

thanks again guys

have been quoted £175 although I never took the call. when I put car in tomorrow am I'll confirm with them if that includes not charging for the oil. reasonably happy at that.
