Just filled my tank up In my Cupra 1.8 20VT and my digital gauge says 330 miles, that seems really low, why is this or is that correct? :think:

Just don't wanna point out the obvious bud... but it's a cupra turbo... my lcr did 300 miles to a full tank of vpower and I was happy with that...

Wow, that mad, I've got to drive down to Manchester on the 29th of June as I go on holiday, so that's gonna cost me a £100 there and back that's bad, normally can make it up and down on one full tank lol

Sure it will be better motorway miles mines all around town so I expected around 25mpg and sometimes depending on traffic can hit 36mpg (through town) which is bang on... what car did you have before this? Me thinks you didn't anticipate the fuel bill lol

I didn't mate lol, I had a vectra 1.8 got about 500 miles on a ful tank lol, when I seen 330 on the gauge I couldn't believe I was seeing that, thought something was wrong. Anyway gonna hit the scrapies soon and get myself a new fuel tank return pipe as I bust my clip when changing my fuel filter, it was fine until the other day when I was driving on the motorway and I lost all power then started to smell a strong whiff of fuel,,, my pipe popped of and fuel was pissing out, so I have it cable tied on just now lol so scrapies it is.

The tank range shown by the computer bases its calculations on the last 50km driven( not nessessarily 50)
So therefore if you've been booting it the computer will give you a low range, if you take it easy then the range stated will go up

Its also based on your average mpg done. Of i hammer it around then fill up, mine reads around 350 miles @ 35mpg.

If i drivr stupidly conservitively, so my average is at 40-42mpg, when i fill up, my tank reads 450miles.

So its based on the data of your driving as to what you will get out of your tank.

I usually get around 320-330 before the light comes on, but have noticed it's dropped recently ... most likely due to the Sessantas which seem to have made my MPG drop a little.

I've seen 380 before, but that was mainly 70mph (~75mph on the dials) on the motorway.

Average around 32mpg, sometimes hit 35mpg, and have seen 40mpg on a trip once ... which for the performance is pretty good!

In my Cupra 180 mapped with fmic, full Milltek etc I can see around 38mpg on a long run to Cornwall and that's cruising on mway at 80-85 and overtaking where required. Average driving around 32-34. LCR a little bit less but not much

got a trip to paisley up in Scotland on Sunday from Manchester, 225 miles or so, so i will let you know mate how much fuel is used ;) luckily its work related so i get the money back. V-power all the way:p

I would say 330 is about average . I got 400 out of mine driving to skegness and back , plus the journeys to and from work that the mrs does. I've never had 400 miles to a tank before , as I normally get the 350 mark.
Welcome to the world of turbo'd cars my friend . :)

Just went for a drive to the scrapies over in Fife, gauge said 375 so it was getting better, also got my fuel pipe what a joke to get it off, had to drop the tank and yank it out, don't no how I'm gonna get it back in my car lol

A Leon fuel tank = 55 litres = 12.09 gallons.

25mpg = 302 miles
30mpg = 363 miles
35mpg = 423 miles

A Vectra fuel tank is 61 litres = 13.42 gallons

25mpg = 335 miles
30mpg = 402 miles
35mpg = 470 miles

Well today I was getting 32.7mpg and getting 375miles

34mpg -

Distance covered = 476 miles. Manchester to Paisley
Litres of Fuel used = 64

Consumption worked out to be around 34 miles per gallon.

That was cruising at 80/85MPH with the odd over take.

Used more on the way there, then on the way back.

Now time to drop the oil and get a new filter and fresh oil init!
