Hi all, wich is best for everyday use? and which will pass MOT??
Thanks for all the info over the last few days:thumbup: its made my new Leon ownership much easier!:D
Especially LEE69 He lives on here lol:p

i use 55w in mine and no issues
try to find the mini ballast sets as well

what is difference then between 35 & 55 kits?

55w hids is another progress and update in cars bulbs...
even though 55w hids are brighter than 35w hids, they tend to wash out some of the color of the HID bulb due to the light output. for example, a 55w 8000k will look similar in color to a 35w 6000k kit.
55w Kits are not recommended for smaller fog light housings because they tend to concentrate a large amount of heat in a small area.

so if you really need maximum light output to drive on very dark roads, you will want to install a 55W HID kits for more lighting power. ok , just go for it but need to be concered of the issue of melting housings or bulbs...
before that, firstly know difference between 35w hid and 55w hid kit ..

Dont think there is much danger of melting housings on these, I along with many others are running 55w HIDs and havent melted anything yet.... the lens does get warm, but wouldnt say it was anywhere near melting levels

they are not selling anymore lee do you have a brand on them ?

just after a set which will defo fit the projector lamps in my angel eyes thanks

No nothing box was thrown long a go.

The bulbs are a standard fit mate, it's the lights that sometimes do/don't take hids without a dremeling.

I'm running 55W 6K's and don't have any problems. I got them from HIDS Direct, based in manchester and they have so far provided good service (I've just returned one ballast as it's goosed hopefully get it back tomorrow/saturday!).

Got 35w 5000k on mine with the H7r bulbs. Look great and dont dazzle at all. Just the right amount of light and colour IMO........ :p

I want to get some 8000k 55w HIDs

What's best to get, H7 or H7R? I've read through a few threads with people saying that H7R doesn't have a long range for the beam

If you are not happy with the range it can be adjusted. On 0 the range is perfect, any higher and you start to dazzle oncoming traffic and you constantly get flashed. :censored:
