Hey guys this might have been covered but I've looked everywhere and not enough information. So I need to replace my third brake light but how? I've got the spoiler off and inside the spoiler there is 2 screws holding the light in place I've removed them also so now is it just prize the light out? Don't want to break anything. Thanks.

This is something I'm currently looking to do on mine!

Is there any movement in the brake light with the screws removed?

I wouldn't have thought it is clued, but may have a gasket that's dried out and become stuck over the years.

Have you managed to find a replacement light for it?

I've not tried pulling at it to hard yet. And yes I've got another tailgate it's coming off but I need them both ready at the same time and I can't get either light out

There is 3 fixings holding the high level brake light and you need to remove the plastic tailgate trim inside to get to them. The brake light itself is a sealed unit, someone did manage to fix one, but I would question how well it would stay sealed once its been opened. I paid about £44 delivered from seremotors a few years back. You will almost certainly break the trim clips so its worth ordering some of those.

Sorry maybe I've not explained it well it's a Cupra R therefore the light unit is in spoiler. Correct there are 3 fixings holding the spoiler in but how do you get the light out the spoiler? Or are you telling me the light unit is the complete spoiler?

Hi mate i've looked it up on elsawin for you and it says nothing about removing it, not that i can find anyway. Leads me to think it's probably bonded in place.

1 - Spoiler
q Material: ASA
– Unscrew the nuts → Item that fix the spoiler to the tailgate.
– Switch off connector → Item of the third brake light.
2 - Nut
q Quantity 3 units
q Tightening torque: 3.5 Nm.
3 - Plug.
4 - Electric Connector
5 - Spoiler's brake light
6 - Cable conduit plug.

The high level is sealed into the spoiler best way to get it out is to pry it out with trim tools this normally damages the light but as you're replacing it's not normally an issue, not sure how you'll get the one of out the other tail gate without breaking it though.

It does prise out of the spoiler, I already had the replacement unit so it was easy to work out how it clipped in.
Here is the instructions from the manual:
