I have a T reg (99) Ibiza 1.4 S APQ engine, it has done 40k miles and just had a service.

The local garage was not sure about cam belt changing times for my car and suggested i called Seat to find out but thought i would ask you jolly bunch before hand!!

The cars now 7 years old and never had the belt changesd as far as im aware, what are you views on when i should get this changed and how much should i expct to pay?

Any help would be greatfully recieved!!

:help:

every 6 years or somewhere between 40k - 60k generally. I'll be doing mine every 3 ish for piece of mind.

Get tensioner done aswell, bout £50 labour and £40 for parts (if my memory is any good from bout a year ago)

The current reccomendations for a petrol engine:- it should be inspected at every service from 60K onwards , changed if required. It should certainly be changed by 110K at latest.

For vehicles built before MY2000 it should be changed at 5 years if this comes before the above stuff - so nutter - get it changed
