nice work there Dan (as usual) - running eltons rad/fmic stack... Neat. :)

Any guess's on all up weight?
should be similar power to mine when done.... except you will have traction - lol

so your all really saying its not worth it and just go and buy a s3 for say 15k then sell the ibiza and use the money for tuning? so about 7k, what would i be looking at (bhp wise) for 7k on a s3?

think beyond IHI if you have £7k and want >400bhp to go with 4wd

as for not worth it.... if you want something unique then it will be unique and very unusual when done if you covert an ibiza into 4wd, big turbo it etc.

it will cost a small fortune to et it done right, presuming you will employ someone to put in the 100's hours it will take. Unless you are gifted in making & converting yourself, like Dan is, you will spend many £1000's on someone else labour costs. Unlikely to sell the finished article (if this is a short to mid term likelyhood) and recover anything like it cost to convert. Hence if its the power & acceleration you are after, eg: big turbo 1.8t & 4wd package, and not the unique 4wd of an ibiza, combined with BT power, then a different starting point might be more prudent.

It will cost more than you think, almost always...

It's been to local weigh bridge with old engine in but new intercooler etc and was 1210 so not as light as I would like but should still be a cracker.

Do you think the combined 4wd gear is ~200kgs worth of extra weight Dan? best guess?

ibiza realistic miimal stripped weight is ~950-1000kg I think- As a comparison of where to start to get a BT/4wd VAG car

buy a bloody skyline, and tune the shite out of it... they can fairly easily be made to be about 800BHP!!!

my mate had an S3... got to admit i didnt rate them too much, lovely looking cards, and very very nice inside, but just didnt feel quite so mad as i would want...
Guess its personal opinion really.

It's partly the 4wd but I picked the wrong car to start with.

I now wish i did a Golf 4 motion and 20v it

4 motion kerb weights 1380

A3 quattros 1530

And you can deffently get more weight out of a golf what with the mental door design from Audi.

gotta think that above 300hp, 4wd starts to make the extra weight worth it
I agree that and i'm not good enough driver to manage high powered front wd
(driven loads just strugle to get the best out of them)

Fabia WRC costs £250k - I don't think you can pop down to the dealer to pick up all the bespoke parts

In the same way you can't pick up Cordoba WRC parts
