i have a CR110bhp tdi toledo and i think my gear box is about to go on it. was wondering if its possible to jus modify it and stick in a 6 speed gear box on it and is there any specific VAG cars i can take it out of to put it in my tolly? will this increase the torque in any way?

You will need gearbox, clutch, flywheel, starter motor, both driveshafts, and probably more such as the 6 speed gearstick with the cables. It's not a simple job at all.

so its not worth doing then? or is it best doing an engine swap that has a 6 speed gear box?

my guess would be £2000-£2500 after all parts and labour.

thats how much it costs to shove a manual box, stick and pedals etc into an auto

wow, didn't know it'll cost that much. haha cud prob get a car with a 6speed gearbox at that price "jokes".......

Yeah, its not worth just changing the box, if you're serious about then grab a PD engine whilst your at it

To be fair, you probably *could* pick up a car with the 6 speed box for that, possibly one that has been involved in a big crash of some sort, and use the gearbox/clutch/linkage etc from that. Not sure how much it would save you though if you have to add labour, DIY really saves you a darn fortune there potentially

would it b more staright forward puttin in a pd engine in my non pd toledo though? i was thinkin of putting in a pd150 :D
