'53 TDi Sport alarm problems

Ever since i got this car the alarm hasnt worked. If u set the alarm, then open a door...the lights flash as they should (and the siren would normally go off?) but no noise comes from the siren.

Also in VAGcom on activating the beeps on lock/unlock no noise is heard. So me being me assumed that this would be a fault with the siren unit?! Anyway, after buying a new unit, and 300 cuts later (after fitting new siren) there is still nothing!!

means very little to me, anyone any ideas? anyone had alarm probs like this? Its not nice knowing ya alarm doesnt go off

Youd be best off clearing them mate and re-arming the alarm again - then do a re-scan. The first one looks like the problem, however you never know if this tripped after you replaced it...

Isnt the car still under warranty - should be unless youve done mega miles!

i no it sounds simple and im sure you have but have you checked the fuses?

check all wiring sometimes if exsposed to rain can corrode and break connection is it the standard factory fitted alarm?

Yes mate, it might need some Silicone Di-electric grease on it

its the standard alarm yeh.

That grease stuff must be like magic dust fella? haha

Check the fuse, yeh maybe should do that!! Ed ya can have a look on sunday...along with my w8 lamp
