Hellas,

After reading a lot of Threads about the tight fitment of the wider cupra front axle combined with aftermarket wheels, i'm a little bit worried about my plans for the summer.

My plan is to order Enkei SC24 (Yamato) in 8x18 ET 45 with standard 225/40's. Suspension is still stock and always will be b/c i like it in this way.

Is there a problem at stock ride height with this wheels? I don't want to rub new tyres on the front arch or something like that. I ask this because i've read a few threads on here were people say 8x18 ET45 is rubbing.

If there's somebody with this combo, please post pics, give me input :D

thanks a lota,
Klaus

Any pics? Maybe it is related to the differences in tyre width from different brands? I mean, a 225 from goodyear is slightly different compared to a 225 from bridgestone as example

I think problems with rubbing only occur when the car is lowered, standard suspension is fine.

@Jake But they have to be wider than the fender arch, are they? EDIT: I've seen your readers ride thread, looks awesome! :)

@richicupra
Hopefully! It's a shame that you can't adjust camber on a mk2 leon.... EDIT: Any more pics of your TD 1.2s?

I have just put TD pro race 1.2s 18x8 et 45 on my Leon and mine is lowered on H&R springs. I haven't had any issues.

nice m8,was thinking of getting a set for myself for track days etc but would probably keep them on lol

also painted a 'different' color

That's what I bought these wheels for trackdays and summer wheels.
I got them second hand with tyres on so I using them till the tyres are used up, then getting them refurbed not sure what colour yet and put a set of trackday tyres on.

I'd really like the TD 1.2s but they're out of my price range.

A set of Enkei SC24s 8x18 ET45 costs me about 500 Pounds, a Set of the new Autec Wizard 8x18 ET 45 costs about 550-600 Pound. ( converted from euros to gbp )

Enkeis are: 9,8kg per Rim
Autec Wizards: 9,4kg per Rim

Could be worse i think :)

Don't know if Autec Wheels are available in the UK, but that's how they look:

A Mixture from a Sparco Assetto Gara & a OZ Ultraleggera i think

@Redemption They're nice, indeed! But i can't find a serious reseller....and they're a few bucks more expensive than the enkeis i think :/

A bit more expensive, but lighter. They're around £650-£700 online in the UK. The Matte Black ones look good. :)

I will search for a reseller in my area to ask for prices :)

and btw. thanks to all the replies so far! I can't wait for summer....driving it like a sissy for the whole time is much pita :D
