Hiya folks

I'm on the verge of buying a black cupra with 91k miles on an X plate but before I do buy it I need to know from the experts what to look out for as I know absolutly nothing about them lol

The car is near standard apart from being lowered, dump valve and a turbo back milltek exhaust

I dont really know if it has any history but I know the guy that owns it and the cars never wanted for anything, its just had one of the coil packs changed and had the MAF (I think thats what its called) changed

The car itself is in mint condition body and interior wise

Whats the most I should be paying for the car???

Sorry for all the questions but i'm goin to view this car tomorrow and need a bit of info on them

Cheers for your help

Has the cambelt and waterpump ever been changed?
Is the Dump valve and atmospheric valve or a recirculating valve? If it has an atmospheric valve fitted then it is possible the car might have problems.

The cambelts been done, dont know how long ago tho also unsure about the water pump, suppose I could factor that into the price, how much to have a new cambelt and water pump fitted roughly???

The dump valve can be heard but its not really loud, it run spot on tho or so he says, if its an atmospheric one I could just change it over for a recirc one I suppose

new belt and pump is roughly £350ish (give or take) just make sure of the service history, rust arounf the rear window and just general condition. also a hpi check could be in order too.

ok wee update, done an HPI check on it and its came back clear thank fook

The cambelt and pump was done not that long ago by seat with recipts to prove so all good there and as said the bodywork is mint along with the interior

Just found out it was the air mass flow sensor??? that was replaced and all 4 coil packs as well

The exhaust on it is actually from the cat back and not the turbo as I mentioned

What kind of money should I pay for this???

I know that the lower mileage ones go for roughly £5k+ so just wondering what kinda price a highish mileage one goes for

brilliant mate

Whats the gen on modding one with this mileage???

I will be gettin it remapped nearly as soon as I buy it,also gonna go for rear 15mm spacer kit and if funds allow a forge FMIC

just a thought but if your gonna spend £500-600 on a remap for it, then why not spend £5000-5500 in the first place, get one thats already mapped and lower mileage, that cash should see you one with 50-60k.....?

Ive no idea peter, the cupra is a 2k model on an X plate

Matty - what kind of things can go wrong???

I've been askin about but been told that as long as its been looked after the it will be fine

According to Glass's guide this is what he would have been offered:

Part-exchange Price:
Excellent condition: £2820
Average condition: £2500
Below average condition: £2170
