Just a question? does Tesco 99 octane have a similar additive package to shell 98,or are you forgoing the additive package with 99?
I think Wee G is right.
Strange thing is my car runs better on M99 then V-Power and also M99 is usually about 6p-10p less a litre (then add Tesco vouchers on top)
The difference between 97 and 99 is 2. can you really tell any difference during road use and driving within the legal limits? I know that I never could when I had a 20vt. IMO if your car runs better on 99 or whatever super dooper stuff they market these days then your car has something wrong with it or it's mega modded to squeeze every last tiny little bit of power from the engine. In the latter case it should be used on a track.
I just use V power because I believe all the hype. lol.
134.9 Tesco against 137.9 at shell, so not 6p but a reasonable 3p or with my tank £1.50 per fill up, which is about £78 per year, hmmm well after 8 years I'd have enough to get a remap, lol maybe I should rethink this plan

The mrs fiiled up at Sainsbury's 97, when I took it out later and had a "spirited" drive against a mates mk1 LCR. He stayed with me, the next week when it was run on Tesco 99 and another spirited drive, I hammered him. The mrs got a bollocking for using 97.
So with mine atleast, the difference is very clear to the tune of 40 bhp.
