A different stereo problem

Hi,

I have a problem with my stereo in that it plays the radio or a cd through the changer ok for about 30 seconds then every 7 seconds the sound will cut out. The display stays on and cds continue playing but there's no sound for a second or 2 then it comes back on and cuts out 7 seconds later.

The stereo doesn't turn on by itself so I don't think it's that common problem and iv'e checked the connections to the speakers and at the back of the unit and the cd changer and they seem ok. Can anyone give me any advice on a possible solution? or is the silver stereo box just screwed and I need to get a new one? Thanks

30!!!!

in my 1.4 i used to have 25 max! anymore and it's distort

think i'm getting old now. i have cd at 8 or 10 and radio at 10-15 (usually quieter). will have cd at 15 if windows are down due to wind noise! Never go any louder!

30 is just daft! let me guess, you also have the loud button turned on, bass at +7 and treble at -7 LMAO

Mine is treble at +7 and bass at around +3. Only remember about the loud button and pressed that the other day, much clearer, but have to turn it down a few notches!

Thanks for your replies, it doesn't seem to matter how loud or quiet it is tho it still has the same problem even when the volume is at 2!.

either an igniton or earth issue.try a new earth first and see how that goes if not itll more than lately be a poor ignition feed which is too weak to cope with the aftermarket radio-its a common one on vauxhalls but not heard it on seats
