I was hoping for some help for the heavy modders on this forum!

Basically I recently purchased (2 or 3 months ago) my new 1.2 Turbocharged sports model Ibiza, which is superb!! The handling is great, the torque is nice and an all round perfect car really. Ok, there are faster things, but for my age (20) and the fact that I went from driving a 1.4 8 Valve V reg Ibiza S, it's a great jump :)

My question is how would I go about fitting a dump vlave to get that sought after Dump Noise?

EDIT: My reason for seeking advice is because I have a 3 year warrenty which I would like to keep in tact for a start haha! And Upon some research before, apparently it is a little complex.

Any help would awesome!

Nabster :)

Do anything to the engine you will void your warranty on the car, from adding a induction kit to a remap.

I think you would get a spacer to make the "whoosh" more noticeable. Sounds like a bus tho, i heard.

Hey FR_POWER, Cheers for the response.

So, even if I get the work carried out at the place I bought my car from by SEAT certified mechanics it still voids the warrenty?

I just crave that noise!! :(

Yes, it would void the warranty of the part you are replacing. If they deemed an engine failure on a part you had fitted e.g. a dump valve, then yes it would void it...

But you would remove the spacer before taking it into seat so it would be impossible for them to know you had one fitted in the 1st place.

Thanks for the reply Grant, So this spacer (as FR_POWER mentioned something about a spacer) would apply if I was adding a dump valve would it? What do you mean by spacer. I'm not a complete idiot with Cars. E.g. I know the different parts of the engine bay, can identify the Turbo etc but you think that you can get away without them knowing?

First of all I guess I would ask the best way to add the dump noise to my car, with the intentions of them not being able to notice :D

And then how much it would cost etc?

You cant add a dump valve to the TFSI. It dosnt dump due to the DSG, It will "Blow off" the excess presure in the system when you take your foot off the accelerator. But progressing up the gears dosnt make any noise.

If your looking for the noise as it changes gear you will be dissapointed.

both systems will void warrenty if the dealer wants to be a pain, there have been some people who have had the systems removed when taking cars in for services, remember of the car is PCP its not your car and dealer may inform the finance and this can cause problems.

SEAT used to be good with mods but there getting worse and worse now and starting to be a real pain.

Cheers for the reply Phil,

Is my car a TFSI is it? In the manual it sais it's a 1.2 TSI. Sorry if I play the dumb person here, I knew the car better than the sales woman did as I loved it so much :) . Also I am sure that you are aware but mine is manual, just to make sure that it's out there as my post has not been the clearest!

Well if it really causes so many problems then maybe I will give it a miss, I can hear the turbo flutter and spur if I rev slightly higher than normal with the music off so I thought it would not be that hard to get something like the woosh noise showing more of a presence :(

Is there anything I can do?

No problem i didnt realise it was a manual.

Most of what I have said dosnt apply then.

The warrentey stuff still does however, i know splineter had problems with dealers removing mods when his car was serviced. :-(

So there is hope, sort of!

Or at least I'd like to believe there is, if I had something done to it that would make the woosh noise happen, e.g. a Dump or BOV would be that be expensive etc? This is my first time modding a car.

Congrats on having the Bocanegra though, a very nice bit of kit. It's such a shame they only have it in DSG though as I love manual too much :-( . It just feels like you have more control of the car (my feeling on the matter of course!)

So splineter had troubles when having a service done? Were these the type of mods that couldn't be taken off for a service as they would be noticed?

Ryt mate everything the guys have said about warranty is correct just take it off before it goes to dealers for anything.

Your looking for something like this
http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=&product=FMDV14T

This is the spacer for the turbo only vag cars but not sure if it fits yours or not have to check that ( got a feeling it's for the 1.4 turbo only cars) but it at leasts answers some of your questions

It's a bit of a bugger to fit on the 1.4 tsi engine not sure about yours.

Jkm performance (who have a section on here) a good people to ask if it will fit

Hope this helps you out abit

Thanks for the burst of responses TSI Boy and Tonezz!!

Shall I just create a new thread in the JKM forum section and see what they say perhaps?

And Tonezz I have been told that TSI also stands for Turbocharged Sports Injection, although I heard it meant your definition before I heard the one that I mentioned.

I just hope I can Do as people recommend and fit it then remove it without then noticing at a service. Adding a BOV spacer won't decrease my power will it? And do you think it would be expensive? I did hear somewhere that it can be tricky although the TURBO is in plain view in my engine bay.

Thanks again for your help so far :)

The 1.2 TSI VAG engine is Turbocharged only :)

VAG have since dropped Supercharged T/FSI injection in light of greater performance advances using just a turbocharger!

Nothing to do with the poor engine quality of the twin-charger engine :)

Yeah just ask if they can find a product similar that will fit your engine they are helpful enough

It is a new engine so might take a while for these products to come available especially as it is not seen as a performance engine

No problem mate glad to help

Don't mean to sound stupid, but how does a gearbox, DSG or not, stop a turbo from "blowing off" two totally separate components and I don't see how having a DSG gearbox could limit you from fitting a dump valve
