I have brought a usb lead from ebay compatible with vag com 409.1. I Have installed all the drivers and my laptop recognises the lead.

But having no joy trying to communicate with the car, Does not do a thing comes up with the following messages:

"No response from controller", when trying to select a module, at its all of them. The car is a leon fr 150 tdi.

"Car is not ISO/ODBII compatible" when i click the odbII button.

Have i missed something out, or doing something wrong. I connect the lead, turn the ignition on then run vag com. Just like ross tech say.

Any ideas!

Or do i just buy a ross tech lead, would really like this one to work!!!

since its a usb version cable, windows asign it with a com port e.g com5.
Vag 409 can only select either com1, com2 com3, com4.
You must change the port for the cable to either 1 2 3 4 in windows device manager. then select the same port in vag under the option tab
