Dropping it from 6~10 inches is the same as slamming it...

I usually put mine over my head, especially when its a bit nippy out. But i'd say it was more of a pulling action rather than a slam or a push.

I only opended it about 3 times but, I was told to lower it and with about 10 inches left or maybe less just drop it!
Works perfect!!
There is no need to slam it! I was told it damages the spring on the lock!

I always lower BONNET onto catch then push it gently.
Don't know why but when I picked it up from dealers, this was one of the things they insisted on I always do what I'm told
