Hi guys,

My cupra had a faulty abs sensor and was stuck in the hub. Managed to get the screw out in one piece and the main part of the sensor aswell.

This is the replacement sensor I have from eurocarparts (no. 417440100) earlier this was on the site for the ibiza 1.8. Now its appearing for the Golf 2.8.

Is it the right one? As it does appear to be too big. But it was listed as correct earlier, now the site has trouble finding it.

:wtf:

Edit: found it on the ECP website http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/S...ee87947dab5a323b2bafb2981b003f55193ee6fc&WSPS

I just bought a new abs sensor to day from a place called GSF car parts in Bristol but only paid £13.95 + vat but they do have a website http://www.gsfcarparts.com/ maybe order one from there save you some money or give them a phone 0117 955 7654 but have got places all over the place.

I already have the sensor, so i want to avoid getting a new one. Yeah a few people have said to me about sanding it down a bit. I will let you guys know how I get on as soon as I get a chance to take a look!

Ok guys after a bit of filinf down on the sensor body, it now fits snugly in the hub. I took the car out for a run, but the abs light and tcs light have remained on. I was assured by my garage it was just that sensor that needed replacing and I trust them. Does anything need to be re-set so the car recognises that there is a sensor in place now?!

Well youll need to reset the fault code for it to go away, Fault code reader or vag-com will do the trick, failing that, take the battery terminals off for about an hour :D that should reset them.

When I get those two lights I always use vag-com to tell me which one it is.

However - it could be the ABS unit - happened to me (vag com told me straight away the ABS unit was at fault.)

My garage told me that it was definatly the sensor which iv replaced. There were no other fault codes so im pretty certain it isnt the abs unit at fault!

Thanks alex, il take the battery off for a while and try again later.

If worse comes to worse il have to get it vag com'd!
