Is is possible to add a small sub to the standard sound system installed in a Exeo Sport? Any info would be much appreciated. Has anyone seen the connections at the back of the head unit?

cheers

I also noticed a cut-out under the rear parcel shelf where a freeair subwoofer can stand. I understand the A4 B7 has them fitted here. Any one have any ideas what units can be fitted? cheers

I have an Audi A4 and there is a sub there. I expect all the connections etc will be the same for the exeo so it might be worth checking ebay for any being broken or any second hand ones on there. I think the stereo in the exeo is the equivalent to my Symphony so there is probably some plug and play stuff out there.

I expect the stereo will be equipped with outputs but you will need an amp to power the sub and new cables layed IE phonos and a amp switching wire. I doubt that these will be present. I suspect the Bose system is pre amped at the stereo to get the louder and better sound over the standard stereo that comes witht he exeo. Im not overly impressed with the standard stereo and if i can find a suitable alternative that suits the car i will get it. I enquired with the stealer to get a Bose system and retro fit myself. They wanted £1k i nearly fell off my chair lol

Has anyone had the head unit out or know where I can find a diagram of the back of the stereo? I have the standard 'Adagio' system in my exeo sport. I'm trying to find out the connectivity in the back of the head unit

Very Easy to fit! well, I think...I had it professionally installed. Sounds fantastic. I was advised that installing one where the cut out for the Audi one fits would be more costly/hassle (rear parcel shelf would need cutting - no pre cut vents, separate amp needed and wiring etc) and may not have the same sound as the enclosed sub. It would also hang down into the boot space - (the audi Bose one is really thin and from what I've read, pretty crap too). I opted for the small active 10inch VIBE after hearing the quality from such a small unit. I've also got VIBE fast plug connectors to remove it easily when the full boot space is needed.

If anyone upgrades their headunit to an aftermarket unit which works with the bluetooth/steering wheel controls I would be very interested to hear from them!

Cheers

Hey dude! Nice job. I hear that all Exeo's (the ones equiped with 8 speakers) have a small amplifier for only rear speakers. The amp is located in the boot RHS. Is it true?
This is a sample pic from Audi A4:

I put parrot ck3000 to my exeo and activate steering wheel controls with bluetooth. this is the interface you need while you install parrot :three W .audicom.it/product.asp?pid=119&fmarca=&fmodello=

Hi everyone

Sorry for re-opening an old tread.

Could somebody please tell me whether it would be possible to connect an aftermarket sub/amp unit via the amp in the boot? I want to install a Blaupunkt active sub Thb 200A in the boot, but really haven't got a clue about it or the complicated fitting?

Thanks again for your help

Yes possible, havent looked lately at an exeo stereo but should be the same as always where the wiring diagram is on the top of the unit displaying speaker outputs
