You'd be surprised how much pressure the crankcase develops mine is venting to atmosphere and there's a fair bit of air rushing out on just tick over, let alone on boost, do to can that pressure I'd assume you'd put load on the crankcase seals???

To use hockey puck or not????

it might come out at a rate but its not pressured air from turbo, as venting to air would cause a fault code 17705 for a boost leak.

It's not boost pressure air I'm talking about it's crankcase pressure from the crank and rocker cover, I think we have our wires crossed, my original post refered to the comment rob made regarding 10-15mm hose causing restriction, a build up of unreleased crank pressure could cause problems, but any air entering the tip after the maf is unmetered anyway, only way you'd have a boost leak with anything connected with PCV removal or catch can fitting is if you didn't blank the manifold outlets off.

how far down have u put the vent pipe??? im venting to atmosphere, well, will be when it arrives. and hope venting to atmosphere IS ok the 15mm fittings on the can ive ordered - i cant find 15mm hose, so will 16mm hose be ok?? from can then use 16mm hose and sleeve into 19mm hose

Yes mate, me and peter (seatcupramad) done our catch cans together, both AUQ engines, his had 1 outlet mine had 2 outlets under the inlet manifold

Phew, mines also AUQ, i also have 2 outlets....did u block them both off mate????

Yes you need to block them off but I have another manifold from another engine code as I had it polished by a company so I could leave mine intact while it was being done, so I only had one to blank off.

Sorry mate just clarify you mean how far have I routed the vent outlet with filter on the end down the the back of the bay, currently still have filter on vent on the can but will be running down the back of the bay to steering rack area, this what you mean?

The hose situation I'm not sure depend what the outer diameter of the 16mm hose is as the 16mm refers to the ID (internal diameter) I'd assume that 16mm would have an outer of 20mm, 2mm wall thickness but just going on the stuff I purchased.

Clarify if I've not answered your questions?

yeh uve clarified my answer mate, im just a bit unsure of how i will fit the 15mm fittings on the catch can, to a 19mm ID hose, i cant find any 15mm hose, thats why i was thinking of 16mm hose, as im sure it will squeeze into a 19mm ID hose???

Let me ask my dad if he can make you some 15-19mm adaptors on tuesday when he goes back to work, be in stainless, take him two seconds and I'll post em to you, there done! :)

Really????? Let me know the cost inc P&P fella :seatgod:

All you need then is some 15mm id hose to connect from can then 19mm hose to the rest of the fittings on the crankcase and rocker cover ect ect.

I cant find any 15mm hose tho, but is 16mm ID hose ok for this??

I would have thought 16mm would be ok, your only talking half a mm to close up with a jubilee clip so be fine.

Will find out tonight if it's ok for my dad to make and I'll let you know the cost ect but just p&p would be fine mate as I say I'll say it's for me and he'll make it in ten minutes :)
