I've removed mine if they don't have 19mm inlets and out let's they cause damage to the engine so catch can is the the garage I now have a pipe coming out the rocker cover going strait to the floor :)

Yep, if you are fitting a catch tank it needs to be the same id hose and inlets as the oe ones, (19mm) if its smaller as Dan Say's damage will be caused to the engine, as fitting smaller hose will ristrict the flow and increase the pressure in the crank, what you want is a nice free flowing system.

I opened mine to have a look, and its hollow, but took out the drain plug on weekend, and a fair bit of oily smelling yellowy water came out, mines vented to atmosphere so mines doing what i wanted it to do....no vapours going back in.

Also what catch cans are made with the correct size inlet and outlets?

I would also like to know this as most of the ones on eBay are all 15mm, I currently have a toyosports can and thinking about getting rid as it's got 15mm inlets so doesn't fit that well.

Surely the majority of them will be able to be modified ie drilled and tapped and new inlets/outlets put on? This is what im going to try with mine

I am having a custom can made with the correct size outlets, it will be mounted in the same place as my other one, its costing me under £ 60. When i get mine i will post pics up ect and if anyone else wants one i can get some more made.

i didnt show that and pretended to be the perfect solution :)) expensive as hell, but i showed it as a sample for size.
btw, i have one custom made also, so do not judge a man instantly :p by a link

what the mounting point difference between the S3/TT and Cupra?

sam, looking forward for those pics. i have posted my location in the first pages of the topic

what's the mounting point difference between the S3/TT and Cupra?

On the LC/LCR the air con charging point is in the way on the TT it's in a different place so the can fits.

Thats what i had made Sam, (£48) it has Two 19mm inlets and a one out let, that way i dont need to "T" any pipes together valve cover out let to one inlet and the crank to another, simples.

good man, im only having 1 inlet and 1 outlet, so i will still need the t but im only doing this so i dont have a extra hose, will look ott on my car due to where i have the can mounted.
having said that the oem setup has 2 hoses going into one so it should still work well. im paying £50 for the can but standard delivery of £7.50 :(
still i cant wait, here is the spec

this can isnt the biggest but it will suit my car, removable without removing my new strut brace that needs fitting :p

I had a custom variant of that can made by forge as i was the trial LCR they tried to fit it on
Have a look in my RR at the pics, it will be mounted off rear airbox bracket
As said aircon gassing point fouls this but i seriously reckon bracketry to support it 40mm lower could be easily made. I have even offered to do it just to prove it

I've found this too. Gave it a thrashing at Rockingham recently and the pressure build up started forcing oil out of various seals. Between sessions I removed the pipework to the Catch Can and directed a hose straight down to the floor and the problem was resolved.

so, anybody knows any Catch Can which is smaller that the normal one, with 19mm inlets? or only custom made ones? around 18cm in height?

and the ones which are made custom, do they have smth inside? or are simple, empty cans?
