:cartman:hi people just came back from my hols, been to germany, and bort a dv for my lcr 265bhp
the dv looks just like a forge 007, but dosent have forge stamped on it, the company was called vag team based in germany valve came with 3 springs 2 washers and all the bits i needed,i have fitted it today, using the blue spring the strongest,(because of remap)i fitted it the same way as the standard oem valve, gave it a try up the road ,and am very happy with result, holds 20psi,my old oem one would let by every so often hence buying a new one!!! as bill told me i would need one soon than later!!

so by now your thinking "right where is he going with this one"?
all i want to no is have i fitted it right? i heard a few of you mention fitting it backwards? WHY?

and others say put softer springs in??

so can some give me some advice please?

and before some one starts, the valve worked out£55 to buy,and i swear the quality is the same as forge cause i held them side by side in the shop and took them to peaces! i could not afford the forge one, but am very happy with what i bort!!!

just advice please no court cases lol !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the blue spring is way to strong. the green is standard i think and i am using a yellow which is best suited for the lcr or a remaped lcr. otherwise anything weaker may cause a boost leak.. i think the yellow would be fine.

Just reading this thread got me thinking. let me get this straight your saying that the yellow spring is best for the LCR, is this the case for a standard 225 coz i have the green one in mine at the moment??

If you've had no problems (and it's not been remapped, looking at your sig), I wouldn't worry about it.

you can run the stock one on stage 2 also. at VW Racing we run the stock valve on all our cars with no problems at all!!!

if you really have to replace it use a forge item as thay are pretty good. you wont need to mess with springs either. its set perfectly fine for you! though i have found the pistons score a bit? (anyone else??)

i'm stage 2 and running perfectly with the stock b.o.v! save your money for something useful for the time being! Turbo intake pipe, dog bone mount or something??

No not the same sound more like a high pitched chirp. Quite a unique sound try it and see what ya think I wasn't too keen on it but its personal preference.

hi boys, first of all its not a chink copy valve it has made in germany stamped on it....
and i also switched it round today (backwards) what a diffrence in sound................................
Bloody hated it..it made a hi pitched scream like the turbo was on its way out,or simaler to a demented canary.............so i put it back the oem way and will keep it like that... lovely whoooomm tttssh sounds as it echos back into the intake!!!

We will help if its a Forge valve and you have any problemsm , however Forge valve usually have Forge written on them , and we never make our valves with made in Germany , we are a UK company !!! beware there are many Forgeries out ther , I have a box of them to sell as scrap that customers have sent to us thinking they are Forge valves

sorry guys, just to reiterate, is it 100% ok to put the forge 007 on the other way round ... does it give same performance etc ?? not damaging etc?? and wont cause any management lights to come up ??

Is the "ONLY" difference the noise ?? is it like a "flutter" sound as you come off the gas?

cheers beforehand!!!
