I have a LC 180, I need to replace my CAT and have sourced a Klarius CAT. While I was under looking at how it connects I got a little confused, so I hope someone can help me out.

Is it a coupling that goes between the CAT and middle section?

Could I replace the middle section with the TDi middle section that has no box and how loud would this make the exhaust (I don't want it booming)?

I don't have alot of money to spend so I am looking for the best ideas for replacing the exhaust.

All help will be greatly appreciated

Yes you can replace the centre section from the derv, its a straight swap and no it wont make it boom just a slightly deeper tone, you can get the centre piece for about £20 on the bay. Its a three hole flange that connects the cat to the middle section but the cat is part of the down pipe not separate, i don't know what Klarius cats look like but unless its a complete down pipe you will have issues. Have a look at THIS thread there are some pictures of the down pipe off the car.

Thanks for your help Phil. Yes the Klarius is a complete DP and Cat. I just wondered what the connection between the cat and middle section was as it looked like it was'nt just the usual pipe into pipe and a clamp over the top. it looked more like a connecting piece.

Thats gave me plenty to think about, think I will go for the derv middle section. Any recommendations for a good inexpensive back box?
