advice on removel of heat sheild

hello wondered if any one can give me some advice

had a rattle coming from the heatsheild over the cat on my ibiza cupra 16v
and now its got really bad tryed refixing it but its about had it

i know they wont cost much and i probley will get a new on but what i want to know is if i take it off will and drive about for a bit will it be ok or is my car likey to catch fire or somthing

bearing in mine that most of the time i drive like a joyrider!

either take it off, or just screw some small self tapping screws into it from underneath into the body of the car to hold it up, thats all ive done

thats what i was goin to do but just just i would be easier to remove it i really anoys the **** out of me

I jus pulled mine off an got tin snips on the rest of it lol

... write jacked it up to today and set about taking it off happy days did that in about 15 mins.

drove it and it has helped but yes it's still doing it when it was jacked up i noticed that there is like a sleve around the down pipe and i could move it cuz it looks like it's sort of rusted away i rekon it's that

taking the heat sheiled off has solve one rattle i think they was just murging into one what shall i do now

omfg iv done it found the problem after removing the cat heatsheild which was knackerd thow screwing the other heatsheild down with self tappers and still not solveing the prob

it was the bracket which goes over the exhust channel when i excellerate it the exhust was knocking on it
off it came and i know have a rattle free ibiza yippeeee

Surely the heat shield is there to shield Heat! What Damage is it doing by taking it off completely.?

Unless this is just a huge practical joke that SEAT is playing on us all..
