Hi all,

Looking for some advice, I've had my 2012 Ibiza 1.4 TSI FR for a year now, I had originally wanted the Leon FR but couldn't afford it at the time.

I'm considering going for the Leon now but wondering if it is worth the upgrade? Is it a cosmetic upgrade only or is it a better car all round?

Also I'd be looking at one a few years old, what models would you recommend?

Thanks
Gavin

Better car all round. We don't have FR but went from 1.4 84BHP Ibiza to 1.2TSI Leon. It's a much more comfortable car with much more get up and go.

Agree with the comfort- had a mk5 ibiza and got a mk2 leon which felt a lot more spacious and more comfortable to drive. Now have a mk3 leon. Hard to describe but my brother still has an ibiza and says the same when he got in my mk2 and the same for my mk3. My mate has traded from a mk5 ibiza to a mk3 leon and can't believe the difference.

Thanks guys,

Did either of you notice an improvement in the interior finishing?

The only other thing I'd be looking for is a bit more practicality with the boot space (golf clubs!!!)

I can feel myself being persuaded :0

I think the difference in terms of finish is bigger between the mk2 leon and mk3 leon, rather than the mk5 ibiza and the mk3 leon. It feels more modern though, and having the screen up in front of you is better than the location both other mentioned cars.

After years of Biza Cupras, I got the Leon as I needed a bigger boot now that the grandkids both come with us a lot. The car is far better in every way, yet it still handles really well (SC DSG) and I took to it like it was just another Biza, but quicker, more comfy and better built with more tech. You will love it.
