I bought a 55 plate Leon 2.0tdi Sport second hand last year and in the boot is a 16" space saver, the jack, wheel brace etc but also a tyre compressor and a can of that gel stuff. The problem is that all this rattles about in the spare wheel as there is no foam insert, so I bought amongst other items a foam insert from David at Sere (who is very helpful) but it doesn't fit as it looks like its meant for an 18" spare / space saver, apparently its the only one specified.
I have two options which is to get the right size foam insert for a 16" space saver or a holder for the compressor and gel stuff, so does anyone have a 16" space saver and could give me the part number for the foam insert or let me know what should hold the compressor and gel in place. Pictures would help a lot.

Many thanks

Seems like the previous owner bought a space saver as a back up to the gel/compressor.

Gel/compressor, jack, wheel brace, etc have one big polystyrene holder & never came with a space saver.
If you want to use the space saver try to get hold of a Mk5 Golf 16" jack, wheel brace holder.
Got mine off ebay for about £5.

Or alternatively try to find some way of securing the compressor / gel so that it doesnt move or rattle when it does?

Maybe just wrap each one in an old cloth/towel so they dont rattle?

For the time being anyway...

Thanks for your replies. I don't really mind which I use, I just want it neat and tidy and how it should be.

Anyone got pics of the holder for the compressor and gel?

It still houses the jack and brace etc then. I don't suppose you noticed the part number did you;)

No, I will get rid of the space saver and simply have what should be in the boot.

I have now ordered a foam insert for the compressor etc from Ebay which is 8P0 012 109A or F, if anyone needs to know in the future.

Well, mine came with a can of goo - but I got myself a 16" space saver - the thread in the middle screws the wheel down nicely and then the compressor and goo goes in the tyre and the bits go in the pockets each side of the boot... Job done!
