My 280 ST is finally booked in with the lovely guys Nige and Dave at BCS for a powervalve Exhaust.

Just wondering what other people have done with the Sound Actuator after fitting a louder exhaust. Just disconnect it altogether or adjusted it through Vagcom?

I’m probably in the same boat as most people who think in Cupra mode the sound actuator is just to much. I find I quite like it when it’s in individual mode (with the engine set to normal) but the DSG box is knocked into sport. I assume this is just the same as sport mode, but I only really use Cupra and Individual modes these days.

Have not done the exhaust but first thing I did with OBD11 was turn of actuator.

I have upgraded the intake and get just enough feedback (noise) from that I don't need anything else at this stage.

Didn't notice it as much after fitting my exhaust but still turned the sound level down to 0 using carista

Hi Damo

I am considering getting a BCS Powervalve exhaust on my 280 ST. Presently I'm running a JB4 with a cobrasport downpipe, but was considering going for the full start to finish system with a 200 cell cat. There is a one catch though, to keep the CEL at bay there needs to be a mini cat O2 spacer fitted to the second lambada probe, and considering the cat is located slightly further down the system than the OEM positioning, I'm concerned there might not be enough room beyond the cat, half expecting the second O2 sensor location to be about where the exhaust passes through the floor of the car, which is quite a snug fit. I had thought about mixing & matching the Cobrasport DP with a catback system, but note that it's not listed as available with the powervalve option on the internet, so that might be out too? I don't suppose you have photos from the fitting of in and around where the second O2 sensor position is located at all, or just randomly? I don't want to go down the stage 2 remap route. In NI our MOT is carried out in government testing centres, with any CEL an automatic fail, with no OBDII connector of any kind permitted during the test, so the auto fault clear function of the JB4 wouldn't suffice. It's not a great idea to use it anyway, as it may mask other problems. Our MOT is after 4 years, so the first one is next June. I wouldn't be wildly interested in taking off the exhaust & putting it back on again each year either. That'd be far too much hassle. I can't really afford to buy an exhaust in the hope it'll just be grand, considering that it will fit the car it'd hardly be fair to ask to return it if an O2 mini cat can't be installed.

Cheers in advance for any advice you can offer.

Sorry I only had the cat back installed for a bit of noise, not a full system.

However the guys at BCS are very helpful, I would suggest giving them a call :)
