age old panel filter question....

Right, i have done a search but haven't come up with a definitive answer as such. I know the various panel filters available for the MK2 as i'm planning on drilling the airbox etc but do we have a unanimous view as to which make to go for? I was thinking green but there seems to be a lot of piperx on here and now i'm confuzzled!!

So,which one do i go for for my 8v cupra sport,answers on a postcard please as to which n why!!?

I had a K&N panel filter in my Cupra 8v for 4 years without any MAF problems etc.

Id go for green aswell. I know you have a gti but I've got a Green filter on my 1.4 and it is good. Even after a clean and oil its just like it was when it was bought new.

errr..I had a pipercross viper kit on my old 8v! it was good though!

jetex one on mine from jabba. or green in my opinion. drilling holes in the box might coz excess heat going in and causing slight loss in power altho might give better induction sound. would recommend u uprate the panel filter and put on a larger cold air feed as many have done.

Ive got a cheapo JNX filter which came off the bay, I'll be ditching the drilled air box from mine in favour of a non drilled item as its a bit too noisey, its only going in the bin otherwise

I gather you mean bring the airbox still attached to the car?

you could blow down it and see how it sounds... but i guess leaving it attached to the car would be easier.
