Air Con Altea reference

My Altea a is 54 plate & the air con switch light comes on but thats it. There is no climate control. It has been re gassed & they have done a diagnosis test. The things that came up with a malfunction were 01 - engine, 08Auto HVAC. 17 - instruments, 46 Central Conv. I was then told not sure how much it would cost until they started to take things apart. Sounds expensive. Grateful for any ideas

pretty vague description i'm afraid

by the way - 01 - engine, 08 - Auto HVAC. 17 - instruments, 46 - Central Conv.
all these are just modules attached to the car and they will contain the specific error and say what it is. you need the specific P codes for accurate diagnosis and even then it's only an indicator as to where to begin diagnosis.

you say you have no climate control, as in nothing out of vents? could just be a flap motor in that case around £150ish i think (can't remember!) plus fitting.

get someone (i can do it, north wales near prestatyn) to vag-com the car for you to pull the specific error(s) and then you can get a better quote and/or idea of how much, why, and how to fix things....

:)

ps: welcome!

ive had my compressor replaced too, it just didnt generate any high pressure therefore cold air.

Apparently this guy's fans don't blow or anything, hence fan motor....
