Hi guys
I know some people will rip me for this etc, but hey.

Ordered a cheap version of the Nautilus air horn on ebay (this one to be exact http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/vi...0500623166&index=1&nav=SEARCH&nid=98591801992

I had a twin horn on my Saxo and I never used the relay (whoops) but I never had any issues, however is like to do it properly now I have a 'proper' car.

How have people wired theirs up? I've seen people say to take power from the battery, have people done this directly from the battery or from somewhere else?
Basic diagrams or explanations would be great!

That's brilliant!
How did you take the wire from the battery? Straight from the positive terminal? On my MR2 I took mine from a fuse box in the engine bay, didn't know of there was anywhere similar on the Leon?

Yes i used straight from battery to relay fuse it near the battery. Also make the relay live near the headlight area where it is protected.

Any preference to which gauge wire? What rating fuse? What connection did you use to the battery terminal?

I'm pretty sure I have some amp wire still so I'll use that. Reading your RR you said something bout a 20aml fuse? And about getting a better relay?

How did you connect it to the positive terminal? Ring connector?

Cheers for the help Lee.
I've found my amp wire, ordered a fuse holder with 20A fuse so just waiting for that and the horn to arrive!

i have used original horn wire. I have checked how many amps were drawn by orignal horns and then how much by airhorns. it turned out that airhorns were drowing less so I have used orignal wiring. been ok for over a year

Like I said Johny, i ran one on my Saxo without the relay, jsut using the original positive and negative wires from the original plug.

As said though, I'd like to do a 'proper' job since i now have a half decent car.

Saying that, this is mainly to Lee I guess, with regards to getting power from the battery, obviously i can use a ring connector and run the wire to the fuse down towards the horn, but do you know if i can get power from any of these spare bolts at all? or are they a no-go?

I knew that, was just making sure you did ;)

Haha, ring connecter under the bolt on the positive terminal it is then!

Well it's wired up now.
Ran 27amp cable for all wiring other than the original horn wires which just had spades put on ten and connected to the relay.
Works brilliantly and it's been very useful already ;)
