I have just swapped the interior in my 2001 Leon, 1.4s for one out of a 2002 1.9tdi Leon, and I am getting the above fault code

01217 - Side Airbag Igniter : Driver side (N199)
32-00 - Resistance too High

I have checked the connection under the drivers seat and it looks ok. I cleaned both plugs with contact cleaner, and the connection seems tight.

Can anyone suggest anything else I could try ?>

thanks

when removing and fitting seats you should have battery disconected. may eb an idea to disconect battery and the seat plugs then re-connect. this may be a cheap fix?

if not the airbag module could use a different resistance? e.g you may need to solder a resistor inline

I did disconnect the battery, and as stated above I have tried reconnecting the plugs again after cleaning them.

Soldering is a bit 'point of no return' if you know what I mean

I took my seats out to put recaros in and had to put the plugs from the standard seats onto the recaros. First did it using bullet connectors and got this error. Ended up taking them out and getting them soldered on. Cleared the fault code and it hasnt came back.

To clear an airbag light you have to clear it with vag-com. Disconnecting the battery normally doesnt clear them.

Thanks for the reply,

I am using VAGCOM to clear the fault.

I have put the original drivers seat in, and the fault has cleared.

I will maybe have a go at soldering .......

thanks
