Airbag light

Just brought a new mk3 beeza last week, airbag light has recently come on, just wondering what i should do??? (heard you can't check them on v - com cos it screws it up??? any help guys??

think on early models they are sensative, but all you have to do is just clear the fault. It has to be done

Isn't there a chance it would loose the information about the air bag if i start messing with the airbag settings tho?

What information? all you gona do is go to th air bag fault and press erase. that will remove the light on the dash.

Any reason why the air bag light came on in the 1st place?

not sure why it came on, i brought it knowing it was there cos it was in such good nick and miles for the ££££££££

I think you should just scrap it, its obviously no good. I'll have the good bits off it though!

Dont think Vag-Com is compatible with the airbag module on the Mk3 Ibiza so cant clear the fault unless you wanna damage something anyway. Could be that the airbag connector is loose in the steering wheel or even on the seats.

Could try dis-connecting the battery to see if that clears it, or i can try and clear it through Vag-Com if you wanna risk it.

Could be justa loose connector may be, try aecu reset. You may get lucky

Get it booked in for a free revo trial! My light came on a few weeks ago,
took it for the trial and they cleared it at the same time.

Funny you should mentio the bulb, i did think about taking it out for the MOT!

Is that possible? last time i took my cluster out and saw its a small led soldered into the board. only option i think is to block the light off as temp solution

Think the Ibiza has diodes in the dash not bulbs so cant just take the bulb out.

Mine came on when i disconnectedthem when i put the cupra r interior in. Plugged in my fault finder and deleted the fault simple as that

Took the airbag out of the steering wheel and checked the connection and on the seats. All seemed fine so cleared the fault with Vag-Com and no light since.
