airbag module code can only be obtained from reading the old module while still installed in the car. this code is then saved to program the new replacement part.
re the rear wiper and lights, check the boot is closed properly - caused me no end of grief working that one out on mine during a long drive lol

i dont quite know how, but my friends garage programed my air bag module now, and at the same time its thrown up codes to show that the wiper stalk is faulty, my cars a 06 so im guessed this should be sorted under warrenty??
any idea how i can go about this? cheers
Nice one getting the module programmed - just shows what SEAT feeds us dealers aint always 100% 
Has the car been hit then? A faulty part will always be covered as long as it isnt impact related. There is stuff behind the steering wheel which an airbag explosion can mess with but you maybe have a simple part failure. We havent done any wiper switches but have done a few indicator switches.

it was hit very lightly, and was unrecored..
ermm yeh i totally agree a airbag going off could effect it, however it was working before, before the car was in the shop and after, ive been using for around 2 months now just all of a sudden stopped... front wipers work fine, and the rear wiper works fine off vag com, im not sure how he was doing it but he was controlling it from the laptop..
what do i say to seat? that i just want to book it in for work under warrenty? and also any chance of saturdays? thanks mate!

One of those chances you take and a lot depends on the dealer's attitude. Personally I would book in as normal and let the dealer find its been hit (they probably wont if all the associated fault codes have been erased elsewhere) What you have to be prepared for is either
1) the dealer says 'this has been in an accident - we aren't getting involved'
2) as above but 'and we have spent time on it so you owe us £???'
3) its accident related and your cost
I dont want to sound harsh but every service dept works on the principle that someone has to pay for time spent on a car.

you can generate the airbag control unit coding using gff (guided fault finding) on a vas 5051 or 5051b if the origional is not to hand, more people have them than you may think. if not plug your old one in, read the code - write it down, replace any faulty parts then code in the new one - you only get 1 chance with the coding, enter the wrong code and you turn the control unit into a very expensive paper wieght. BE WARNED!
