Can the airbag warning light being on cause the EPC light to come on?

I took out my steering column to change my pedal box as it had snapped and now the airbag light is on, must have buggered the roatary bit on the back of the steering wheel or something. but after about 1-2 miles of driving the EPC comes on.

I've thought the EPC could be the brake pedal sensors, i dont seem to have a clutch pedal sensor (1.4 AKK engine with cable clutch) but i think i've fitted these back in properly.

Do VAG charge to have the problem diagnosed?

My problem was a damaged slip ring. Well, VAG said that but it could have been a loose wire, as the brake pedal sensor was also not working. I had it replaced and there was still a fault with it not resetting itself. Eventually that problem fixed itself but I had the air bag disabled, as a slip ring was £50ish.

Did you remove the steering wheel? It seems that the slip ring is either easyily broken or we've disturbed a multiplug.

Get you head back under the sterring wheel and wiggle any multiplugs then try leaving the battery off as mentioned above.

All the best.
