awrite folks, the other night i was picking up the gal went into the boot to change cds, jumped back in the car and airbag light came on, iv tried diconnecting the batt to reset control unit but its still on,iv checked wiring and connectors and every things ok,has any one had this problem ?im suspecting a fault with the pre tensioner in the belt any way i can check this cheers !

Hi - (and welcome) I have the same issue - you need to get VagCom and scan to see which airbag is causing issues. Mine's related to a poor connection in the steering wheel slip ring to the airbag, yours might be too.

Not certain if these cars have pre-tensioners, but either way you need to check what is logged.

thanks mate,i take it vagcom is a diagnostic sofware ???

Vag-Com is indeed diagnostic software, the free version from the rosstech website will do you fine, you'll need a dirty cheap USB cable for it from eBay or a local mate who has it already.

I've heard it is a failure to have airbag light on yes, not bothered to read the online manual for the MOT stuff, I plan to get mine working as it does focus your road-sense a little when you know it's not going to work :)

this happend to me mate i thought it was plug under seat but it wasnt so had my mate mr.d to clear it via vagcom ;)
