Well, after owning this LCR for over a year I thought i may as well post a short progress thread of what i have had done so far.

After looking for a leon for nearly nine months, this one popped up not too far away on 21,000, 55 reg and only one previous owner so i put a deposit down the next day and snatched her up!

Here she was back then:

Then after about three months, had a little problem with it going into limp mode under boost, and after investigating i found this little problem:

So, Badger5 TIP fitted with a jetex cone filter, heat shield and Forge 008 dump valve:

After that i purchased my favourite mod of all time, 3" turbo back exhaust system from cobra, decat non res (obviously) [B)]. A few people on here say they are too loud, a friend of mine had one on his leon and they were subtle at low speeds (hardly noticeable to be honest), but at full chat all hell breaks loose! So i bit the bullet and bought one, and to this day i do not regret it! On a few occassions it pops and bangs, i can't help but laugh. Its the small things in life.

Once that was fitted and my wallet had time to recover, i was a bit bored of the standard power, so a map at Big Fish Tuning was needed!:

On the first dyno run without the map, with the decat exhaust and induction kit it was running around 230-235bhp (can't remember exactly). Afterwards 278bhp, very impressed!

However, with such a hot summer John advised i fitted a FMIC asap to maintain those results. After a lot of research, me and a friend of mine decided to put aside a day and a half to fit an intercooler kit on each others leons:

Unfortunately we had to ditch the fogs, but i haven't needed them once in the the year i've had the car so they haven't been missed. As for the performance, there was always going to be an imporovement with such a massive cooler compared to the tiny SMIC's!

Anyway, after that i was satisfied with the performance of the car, so now it was to get it to how i wanted it to looks. So i booked her in to a friends bodyshop to get the wheels, calipers and bumper resprayed. While i was there i decided to change the lower boost hoses to black as they were too noticeable blue through the fog grills for me.

And this is how she has been since before christmas. Had tax, insurance, mot, full service and tyres to pay for since then so modding has been stalled for the past five months. I really should get some better pictures but didn't see the point over winter.

Next on the list are some AP coilovers and some BBS CH wheels. I have contemplated many times to put a big turbo on it, but to be honest its perfect how it is. In six months the only problem i had was a split TIP, and it would probably make it unreliable.

Anyway, thanks for reading.

Don't get CHs, yes they look good but put some thought into it and be different. Hurry up and get it lowered. What's the mileage on this these days? I hope it's catching mine up :)

Cheers asha.

32k rich, driving it absolutely everywhere while I can! Will be selling it next year.
Ordering some coilies hopefully this week or after payday, it does need them desperately. And about the ch's, I hardly see and LCR's never mind ones with these alloys, plus I'm not too bothered about looking different, as long as I like it myself! Nearly bought Harry's bbs rz the other week but they didn't fit :(

Thanks. Depends on my job next summer, if I go offshore I'll probably just keep this as I will hardly be driving it anyway. If I stay onshore I will buy my dads dirty derv (Audi a3) while I can save up to move out, seeing as though I'm 21 and want to asap! Either way I've got another year of enjoying this so may as well get it finished with some coilies and nice wheels!

If you're wanting to save cash mate don't bother with the wheels, OEM LCR wheels look good in my opinion. Or, buy some motorsport wheels and I might buy them off you in a years time ;)

Haha i'm not bothered about the cash man its not a problem, i just like CH wheels.

Just ordered the AP coilovers, thanks Damian at DPM . Time to get rid of the arch gap!

Looks great buddy! Really like the cobra exhaust think I'll be going down that route myself! Good progress will be watching this thread.

A little update, had the coilies fitted and a photoshoot of mine and a friends leons by Kurt Blythman.

A massive thank you to Kurt for bringing out the best in the car, finally got some decent pictures of it, cheers! :D:D
Next on the list, some genuine BBS CH's I'm swaying towards… We shall see.

Cheers mate!

Well, thought i'd take the plunge. Always wanted a set of BBS CH, got my hands on a genuine set and took them straight to RS Alloys in Hartlepool to get them powedercoated. Absolutely over the moon with the finish!

More pictures to come.

Cheers mate, if anyone is interested in the colour, its 'Hyper Grey'. A grey powedercoat primer followed by hyper silver paint.

Weirdly, it feels like a finished project now… Theres nothing else i want to do to it, so I'm just going to enjoy it :D
