Alana radio won't play mp3 CDs

I have a Seat Ibiza Ecomotive 2008 with an Alana radio mp3 CD player. The problem is that it plays audio CDs, but not mp3 CDs. It displays the message 'CDROM', but it remains mute. Any ideas on why it won't play it?
