Seat alarm problems
Hi Guys,
I'm having the same
problem.
The alarm keeps going off at random points. Very painful at night!!
I've had an auto electrician look at the
problem. at a cost of £40 plus another £30 to hook it up to a diagnostic software from his mate working for a VAG dealer. 3 fault codes came out:
The front drivers door
The interior light - I'm aware of this
problem
The boot locking mechanism.
A few points to note.
The interior light is not working correctly. Apparently its all connected to the alarm somehow?
The sell locking which happens approximately 30secs to 1min after unlocking the car and not entering. My car self locked with the door open which points toward a
problem with the door.
At one point to note allowing the car to self lock was the solution and meant the alarm would not go off. That lasted about a few hours and then back to square one.
There also seems to be a mention of Seats having problems with the control modules. I was told this by the AA who i rang and asked to have a look at the
problem. At the moment I have disabled the alarm thanks to the AA dude. By removing Phuse 17. The lights still flash but the alarm is silent! Bliss!
Under the advice of the auto electrician and VAG certified guy that hooked it up to the diagnostic the best option is to replace the door locking mechanism and the interior light and also check the boot mechanism for water?
Interior lights going to cost me £27
Car door locking mechanism is going to cost me £94! ouch!
Fitting £50.
Does anyone have any idea if the above information sounds ok?
Does anyone know
how to remove the front door card on a seat
leon mk2 2006?? I tried to isolate the
problem to the front door by wanting to disconect it from the picture and see if the alarm
problem still happens?? I've removed screw behind the door handles and at the bottom of the door. Two screws behind the door speakers? Its just no budging??
Thanks for you helps and support in advance?
It would be good to know how you guys fixed the same problems?
regards
Jin
