reading that on passat forum, im not touching allards. if they dont give a shite about customer services, they wont give a shite on quality control

only just got my turbo I ordered back in May!

I hope to god it works ok once it's fitted.

i will admit they were very helpful when i phoned them very polite and very apologetic.. i know its no good when your waiting for an item but hey ho

i waited 2 months for my miltek system but they were having trouble with there supplier, john tdi what turo you bought?

allards fitted my turbo and its absolutley bomb proofe cant fault it but tall paul had a nightmare with his! blew up loke 100miles after it was fitted..

Oh dear oh dear, that isnt very good reading...... i used to know Lloyd very well as a friend of mine had a fr pd130 with there stage 3 stuff on it, went in a mag with them too, but he did go through 2 turbo's with them..... but his aftersalses service was excellent. Its a shame that a company that were once at the top of the tree with diesel tuning has now come to bouncing cheques and refusing refunds on parts..... ill try to get intouch with Lloyd and see what the crack is though

yeah its a real shame i think they would get sooooo much more custom if they sorted themselfs out lloyed is a great bloke to talk to don get me wrong but i think its the sales/after sales etc thats the letdown

Read Lloyds facebook last night, and it seems they have been in court once or twice this year by the sounds of it. When my mate blew 2 of his hybrid vt2 turbo's up Lloyd was there to help, he sent him instructions on how to remove the turbo over msn,sent a carrier up to collect the turbo, then the next day sent a trailer up to collect the car, re-fit a new turbo and the car was back and ready within a week. When his first turbo blew up it was second hand so had no warranty, my mate went down to allards after being told they couldnt fit him in due to them being too busy prepping to mk5 golf gti's for the vw cup. My mate chose to ignor them, went down, Lloyd had a look at the car and found the turbo had gone, so dropped everything and got a new turbo fitted for him.
From going from that sort of customer service, and also inviting him to come down for the day when they got a centre page spread in Golf+ to what it is now, really is a shock

Pretty sure Allard are undergoing some restructuring at the moment, trying to concentrate on the very highly tuned derv side of things. My car's going back there soon, all being well, for some more mapping.

My experiences have been very mixed.

I struggled to get hold of anyone for ages, but when I did, things were dealt with properly and the goods I received were excellent. I havent used them for tuning (as yet) but it may happen as I (used to) have a similar setup to Jason and Devonmikeyboy's previous car with having the propane fumigation system. Will see what happens in the future, it would be a shame to see them go down totally.

The competition at the bottom end of the market is very fierce, cheap maps are readily available and fitting the hardware isnt all that difficult unless you get very specialised - which is probably the right area for them to be in

i think you've hit it on the head there ww vrs, allards were pretty much the only ones who could map hybrid turbo's on the derv side of things, now you can get a TD stage 2 turbo, and a p torque custom map for cheaper than allards's vt2 set up and they produce more power and much cheaper than allards......

Exactly what im doing dancupra. I also think I remember the ibiza you mentioned earlier, a black one from a few years ago, met the owner once or twice, he knew his stuff! top bloke! Wonder if he ever got another a TDi as didnt he have a run in with a van or something?

He always used to say TDi's for the win, and im sure even to this day deep down he prefers TDi's to their petrol counterparts
