After making my fingers bleed refurbing my Cupra Alloys last summer, and the subsequent weather and frankly shocking state of the roads this winter, they need doing again.

I was wondering if anyone had any places they've had experiences with positive/negatives, or somewhere they could recommend me. Ideally in the Coventry/West Midlands area. I'de really not spend stupid stupid money on them.

And if any of you know my car, I probably fit into the "custom finish" category.

I stumbled across "Autosurgery" in Coventry which would be perfect for me, so any direct dealings with them would be really good to know about.

Thanks guys (and girls :p)

honestly the first few times where perfect but last time i went one of the alloy wheels and bubbles and had to take it back but to be fair to them they didn't charge me .

thats the alloys had reburbed from silver to gloss black

How much do they charge for tyre removal and refitting?

Laptab have been good to me too. In the first 3 months of having them done, if you kerb 1 wheel, they'll redo it for free (didn't take advantage of that lol), I had 1 wheel develop cracks in the powdercoat from extreme heat, they redid it for free, and touched up some others which had stone chips as part of the service. My only gripe with them is that they coated the bolt seats too so I had to grind that out to prevent the wheels coming loose. Other than that they're good, not cheap at £240 for 4 though, but it does include strip and refit of tyres and a drive in / drive out service :)

if you have tyres on its £120 for 4 to strip ad refit tryes mates but be careful i'm not sure they have wheel balancing machine though but give them a ring to ask i'd say

Laptab do seem to have all the right reviews on their website and stuff, they just seem rather dearer than I can contemplate spending.

I'de heard about city powder coaters£80 quid deal, but I had my doubts on the quality of job they could do for the money... also with the roads how they've been there are some kerb/pot hole marks that need remedying, I can't see that they do repair work.. :S

I'll grab the spam shortly..
Ive heard that tey use lads down there that've been sacked form other places for not being able to do a decent standard of work etc,
with mine, they had to go back and one rim had to go back again!
Was one of the major reasons I took my Cookie Cutters to be pro-polished tbh, Charley..
I took a set of alloys just to be blasted (they say 12 quid per rim , yet charge (or try to) £50 .. I know its only two quid, but if they do that to everyone.....
and they told me via an email it could /would be done next day... four days later I picked them up.. they are just so slipshod down there, I wouldnt let them paint the wheels on a Tesco trolley now personally.

I 'think' you know OllieL off here too? he had issues with baskets of some BBS rims he sent down there and they had them ages trying to get them done properly.. not sure whether they actually did get them sorted in the end

*and even the ones I sent down just to be blasted came back with 'bits' on that i had to rub down again

No but had a few mates use them...and recommend them. i was going to use City but after Brummys comments I might give it a miss. Gunna call Speedy in the morning for a price.
