i need mine and thought of city, but not anymore.
speedy website is from £25 a wheel, so that £100 for 4.
is paint that expensive?

I'd imagine its the labour time in stripping, fillering / sanding / prepping, then the spraying and baking. Plus removal and fitting / balancing of tyres. All adds up.
Not sure if they have been mentioned yet but I've just had a set done from Bournes powdercoating in brum.
Amazed with the finish and turnaround, the guys sound.
I paid 160 all in.

Thanks Naz, they've not been mentioned yet, but £160 in all sounds a bit more in the price region I was hoping of shelling out

Bournes had an excellent reputation a few years back but then he hired some cowboy staff which started to churn out rubbish work, they had new owners about 18 months back.
The guy realised that he had some numpties working for him so he fired most if them! ( guess which other powdercoating place they went to!)
He's got a good range of colours and does a full shotblast and any repair work.
That price was without the tyres.
I would definitely use them again.

I wouldn't recommend them if the derby branch is anything to go by. I had mine done there and they already had to do one again because a large bit flaked off the spoke after a couple of months. They are also terribly stone chipped now.
On the plus side they did give me loan wheels which were handy
I've not had them touched yet, being working out what colour I'm going this year I reckon if I can get them sand blasted right back, I'll paint them myselft again - it was the sanding that took the time, you see. SO YAR!

Charley.... if its just the blasting I'd trust City to do that if its of any use.. they did some for me , Would be all i'd trust them to do, though
To be fair, city powdercoaters have been used by a fair few people on various forums, and while they seem to have made the odd bit of bad work, they're still fairly popular. But obviously they're your wheels so don't take them anywhere you wouldn't trust.
I will be giving them a go at some point, but mine do need some remedial work rather than just stripped and coated so I'm not expecting to fall under the £80 offer.
