:help: Hi, just a quick question...

I have installed the following in my Leon Cupra R

CDA-9831R with KCA-420i [ipod thingy]

...everything appears to be functioning correctly...but...

WHICH BUTTONS ON THE HEAD UNIT DO WHAT...can't find ANY information about it at all....?! :(

Any help greatly appreciated...

Cheers

i've got basically the same headunit with the ipod thingy too. There are a lot of buttons, any specifics you need to know?

TBH i never read the manual at all, just pushed the buttons to see what they do.

Yeah, thought that...but the KCA ipod thingy points me to the Head Unit User Manual and I can't ind anything about it in there...maybe its just me...:( will have to double check...

Thanks for havin a look anyway...

Err...well if I SKIP a track.. ">>>" it seems to start moving UP through folders...just wonder HOW you VIEW whats on there and then SELECT what you want to listen to...

righto...

select the CHANGER as source (ie iPod)

by default it'll play the first song on your pod, or the last song you'd selected with the HU.

Press 1, 2 or 3 to select the differant search options:

1 = Playlists
2 = Artist or possibly Track Title
3 = Album

Once you've selected the type of search you want to do, press the search button (little button to the right of the volume dial with a picture of a folder on it).

Use the volume dial to scroll through the list of playlists/artists/albums.

push the volume dial in to select what you want to play.

The track skip buttons will then skip through the tracks on the playlist/by that artist/on the album, but whatever has been selected (say an album) will play on a loop (start to finish) untill you use the search function to choose something else.

Pressing title repeatadly will change what is displayed while a song is playing ie Artist/track/album/playlist name/time etc

Excellent, easy peasy then?

Has anyone had any problems...ie. slow reponse etc...or is this something you just have to get used to...probably been covered already...in which case...err...someone else posted this message...

:D

the interface is slow ie when you scroll through albums etc it takes a while.

some people with loads of songs on there iPod (like 10-15gb+) reckon that some songs just can't be accessed from the headunit? not sure if that's true as i and some of my friends use this interface and have never had any problems.

i've been using it for 18 months and it still works fine. i find you have to decide what you want to listen to before you go looking for it otherwise its a pain in the arse.

OK m8, excellent...

Should be fine, i'm very patient [:@]

Cheers again for your post...
