Altea blower only works in reverse gear

Hi,

I have a 54 plate Altea Tdi sport. The problem I have is that the heater/blower only comes on when I go into reverse gear.

I drove ten miles with the heater on and you can hear it blowing, but no air actually coming out. i did think it was a pipe that had come unstuck.

But when I reversed into my drive the blowers came on???

I then drove around the block and yet again no air. But when I reverse they worked again.

Please advise. As i am clueless.

Check that the inlet for the air con isn't all coked up with leafs?

when you put the car into reverse, it starts sucking the inlet air form inside the car by the passenger footwell (to stock it sucking fumes into the cabin).

It would lead me to suggest like above that the inlet for the AC is blocked up.

Try putting your AC into the recirculate mode and see if this work.. If so, it is defiantly not getting external air.

Thanks to you all.

But I tried what was written for another question.

It said re-set the air con by pressing ECON and the air to face (middle top) button.

This reest it and now it works fine.
