Re using the remote key fob to fold the mirrors, on the Freetrack you have to first enable 'Convenience' mode via the Multi Function Display thingy.

Once this is done you can then simultaneously close the windows and fold the mirrors by pressing and holding down the 'lock' symbol on the remote for 3 seconds.

I don't know if it's the same on the standard Altea but worth checking I suppose?

How do I enable the convienience mode ??

Do you mean using the Radio display.. or the MFD in the Dash.... I only have a display showing MPG... MPH .. TRIP etc... not sure if its the same of id it has any other functions???

Yes, it's done via the MFD (Multi Function Display), but as I said not sure if the same options are available on the standard Altea. If you press both the up and down buttons simultaneously (on the end of the stalk) it should take you to a top level menu where there are several options to select from, including 'Convenience'.

Good luck!

thank you kindly!!! lol... i will try it when i get it back from the garage fingers crossed tomorrow!! :( ... bought it 3 weeks ago... only actually had it in my possetion for 5 days out of those 3 weeks ....

I checked the manual, and you have to hold down the lower button on the rocker switch on the end of the stalk for two seconds to access the top level menu (not both buttons simultaneously, as previously stated).

Assuming these options are available on the standard Altea (mine's a Freetrack), you should then see 'Configuration' as one of the top level menus, and selecting this will take you to a sub-menu which includes 'Convenience'. Select this menu to access and turn on or off various convenience modes, including remote window closing and mirror folding.

Seriously??!!! lol.. and thats how its meant to be??!!!!! are SEAT Mad.. lol.. a couple of pence for an LED!!!

No CC light... No Front fog light.. but a rear one??!! sounds daft!!

But why does altea Phils warning lights work.. on a same year as mine... but mine dont?? :(

any other money saving things SEAT have done... or that i shoudl be aware of ... Im only a week into owning my Altea Sport .. ans im already feeling Hard done By!!!!:headhurt::doh:

'cos I'm better than you ???????????:lol::lol:

well.. the wheel bearing is done... The Lights for the cruise control and the front fog lights should be there on the Dash.... (but arent) and are down to blown LED's according to the Dealer... and it needs a new light cluster???

The poor radio reception is down to the Aerial signal amplifier... so these parts are on orderand the car has to go back in yet again too get it sorted!!

Sounds like you are not having the best time of it so far :(

Did you have a play at Jamborino's suggestion regarding the folding mirrors yet?

nope... i only have a small MFD in the Dash... apparently there is a different version... a larger display with more functions???

Not having the most luck ... but who the hell would put a car on there forecourts with so many faults.... i can feel a letter to the director of the Group coming once i get the car finally sorted!

Aaah, yeah there are two types of MFD. :(

I think a letter might be a good idea. I can see them missing a couple of dash lights, and possibly even the dodgy radio connection, but a faulty wheel bearing is pretty hard to overlook.

Might be worth getting the AA out to do a full inspection then take the list of faults (if there still is any) to the dealer and get them to either fix them or find you another car that doesn't have them. Could be £150 well spent.
