He has decided to sell it and has offered it to me for£9500 its black 55,000miles, it has the recaro interior and sat nav, fssh. let me know what you think. thanks

those options cost £900 & £2100 respectively from brand new.
without being too cheeky ask him if a shave off a further £500 off the price as he's your mate.

60k service means cam-belt if I am correct, unless its already been done

cambelt change is not a big deal.
if you go to a specialist you can get it done for as little as £150

Although you'd be wise to swap over the water pump for one with a metal impellar at the same time as changine the cam belt.....water pump can;t be done without changing the cam belt and the water pump is a known weak point of the 1.8T engine.

Cam belt and water pump is about 4.5hrs labour (half day) @ £45/hr 'ish say £200 add £50 in parts ish plus VAT.

Therefore say to your mate you need £300 off the price to cover that

Otherwise not a bad price.
